Two good things for the first day of summer: Finally, local strawberries are ripe! And rhubarb is still in season. There will be cobbler… (and I guess that’s three good things.)

Who would’ve thought it possible for so many peonies to grow on one small, urban lot? Just a few blocks from our house, those frilly, fragrant flowers have taken over. I hope they have plans to expand their empire.
