Well, hello. I never intended to be gone this long. And I’m really not back yet. But I wanted to mention that I’m still taking a photo every day.
In June, I’d planned to take a full month of photos related to chickens: photos of our little flock and the coop we built for them, pics of a chicken slaughter in which I participated early in the month… Well, I didn’t manage an entire month of chicken, but close. (Truth be told, I was getting a little bored shooting only chicken pics after the first week.)
On the 4th of July, I turned on my camera at the farmers market, and nothing happened. I flipped its switch off, and back on again. Off. On. Off. On. Off. Nothing. I had one very dead Rebel XT. For the next three weeks, I shot with Paul’s old PowerShot, which has fewer megapixels than do many cellphone cameras (though not mine). Near the end of the month, my new Rebel XSi arrived. We’re getting to know each other now.
This summer has been busy and complicated. Perhaps I’ll be able to write about it – or about jam or pickles – sometime soon. I hope you’re having a good summer.

Hi – its good to hear from you
I hope you are doing well…. and looking forward to seeing what you come up with from the new camera!
Me too. Its more than complicated. Its pathetic, stressful and complicated. I am still managing a picture a day but having a bear of a time trying to upload them.
Some of them are taken in the dark with my blackberry.
I long for the new year.
The pictures are still lovely and hope you camera woes will be over soonest.
