1. Soft, warm flannel sheets, freshly washed for the first night of the year.
2. Homemade sourdough English muffins, fork-split and toasted, topped with creamy scrambled eggs.
3. A length of wide Christmas ribbon, knotted at one end, that continues to enchant three cats already somewhat bored with their new toys.
