December? Already?!? Seems like it was just Thanksgiving… oh, right, it was. These years when Thanksgiving is late in November are disorienting. We’re still eating leftover turkey, and yet it’s time to get into the December/ Christmas/ Solstice spirit. I like a little more time between my holiday celebrations.
But here we are, whether I like it or not, at December 1. If you’ve been coming around here for a while, you’ll know what that means. If you’re newer, here’s the scoop: For the past couple of years, I’ve put together a conceptual online Advent calendar, with a little image for each of the first 24 days of December. I’ve enjoyed it so much that, yes, I’m doing it a third time. I hope you’ll enjoy it, too. (And yes, I’m participating in Holidailies for a third time, but it doesn’t officially start until December 5 this year.)

Now that December has arrived, it’s time to decorate. We don’t have a Christmas tree yet, but I’m already imagining the perfume of fir and the twinkle of lights. I love wooden Christmas tree ornaments, and added this lovely German snowflake to our collection this year.
