Yes, the days are getting shorter and cooler, and we had a stretch of rainy autumnal weather at the end of August. At the farmers’ markets this week, however, you might have thought it was still the height of summer. The weather was warm and sunny, with perfect bluest skies you’ve ever seen. Because of this year’s cool, late spring, many crops that should have been ready weeks ago have finally shown up at the markets… and everything that normally ripens this time of year is also coming in. Such a delicious bounty!
