When I visited a job site in rural King County last week, I was delighted that the brown, weedy lawn I’d seen in February had grown into a lush, thigh-high meadow. Wildflowers shaded from white to deep maroon played peek-a-boo among the tall waves of grass. As I waded through the new growth with my client, we remarked on its beauty, and he told me that it would be mowed in a few days, as the drying grasses would soon become a fire hazard.
As I was leaving the site, I paused to pick a handful of small daisies. A week has passed, and I imagine the meadow has been shorn to a thick stubble. These daisies, some just beginning to wilt, are still lovely.

Those are really beautiful flowers. I’ve only ever seen fake flowers that look that pretty, lol!
