Feline Not-quite-Friday: Her darker side

her darker side

A couple of days ago, I sneaked up on Lyra lazing on the cat tree in the late afternoon sun. When she sat up, I snapped a couple of shots before she began complaining about the sad dearth of petting being provided. This one was a touch overexposed on the sunny side, but I loved this shaded side, in which the sun highlights her eyebrow and eartuft. And I love the serious, almost regal expression on her face, which is so at odds with her spongelike affection-seeking behavior.

You can see all sides of cats and other critters aboard the Friday Ark.

They do like to “complain” don’t they! One of my crew…Miss Clover, will be 15 this summer. Her sister has aged more gracefully than she has and now Clover seems to be both arthritic and almost blind. Her favorite pastime (besides sleeping) is following me around the room with her nose against my ankle or foot or leg. But, sit down and try to hold her…. oh, no! She wants the attention, but only in her own way and time.

Lyra is beautiful and so calm!
