For indoor cats, windows are televisions, or perhaps movie screens. Sometimes, the picture is bright and crisp; but often it’s streaky or hazy, or very very dark. The sound is usually muffled, but on nice days, sound quality goes up, and the show comes with Smell-O-Vision. Those are wonderful days!
On Sunday afternoon, Sasha and Sergei grabbed front row seats for a matinee double feature, complete with sound- and smell-tracks, of two recent local releases: Migration of the Northern Flickers and A Tale of Three Crows and a Potato Chip Bag. (Sorry that the promotional shots for these productions are so poor; this is public access programming, and you get what you pay for.)
Sergei and Sasha were entranced. They cackled, they twitched their tails, they stuck their faces right up against the screen. It was a wonderful show!
There’s a fine show going on aboard the Friday Ark. A Byootaful Life hosts Weekend Cat Blogging, where the cool cats will be pictured with their Favorite Things.

I absolutely adore this series! It is so expressive.
Windows: portals to another universe. Our Snickers sits with a twitching tail in several windows… and when she can escape to the roof from a second floor window she does. At those moments, she likes to sit outside my sewing room window and watch the river go by–and chat with me.
Those birds are amazing, and your photos of your cats are just stunning!
Wonderful pictures! They certainly have a ringside seat for all that birdy action!
Boy, they are really concentrating. Their stares aren’t even broken by the camera.
I love how in sync they are, but you know, now I need to see the script for A Tale of Three Crows and a Potato Chip Bag. I’ve a feeling it’s got potential in that sort of Sam Beckett meets Sam Shepard kind of way.
What a wonderful post! I love the movie idea and the pictures are incredible! I thoroughly enjoyed it!
As always, you post the most gorgeous pictures of your cats.
Yes, it is their TV and they are mesmerized! Great photos!
