Feline Friday: Glamour shot

February 23rd, 2007 by Kimberly

5080 glamour girl

Lyra took some time out from dozing in the sun to pose for a new head shot. Even with fewer teeth, she is a gorgeous girl.

All the beautiful critters strut their stuff this weekend. Will there be a red carpet to board the Friday Ark? The felines will be looking particularly fabulous at this weekend’s big parties: Weekend Cat Blogging at Kate in the Kitchen and Carnival of the Cats at Scribblings.

    Friday Ark #127…

We’ll post links to sites that have Friday (plus or minus a few days) photos of their chosen animals (photoshops at our discretion and humans only in supporting roles). Watch the Exception category for rocks, beer, coffee cups, and….? Do link to the…

My cats all have gorgeous blue eyes, some lighter and some like deep blue marbles. But there is something about a gray cat with emerald green eyes that draws me in. If I should ever be in a position to have another cat, it will have green eyes.

The celadon eyes are bewitching. Cat tooth loss is certainly less disfiguring than the human variety; she’s gorgeous!
Good thing, because I think cats may be even more vain than humans. Any cat I’ve ever known who’s had to be partly shaved, or had some pretty fur clipped to get rid of tangles, has been dramatically embarassed and fussed about it.

I have that same Albert Schweitzer quote that I kept from a Page A Day calendar from years ago! I loved it! It shows a black cat walking on a piano keyboard.

Thanks for the link. I’ve got Lyra added to the party!

First camera-envy drove me to break the piggy bank to try to keep up with Kimberly. You keep this up and cat-envy is going to lead to a house covered in fur.

Beautiful shot — and kitty. Gosh, natural lighting sure does beat that washed-out flash effect, don’t it?

You are right, Lyra is a very glamorous cat with wonderful jewel-like eyes!

She is a beauty, and looks ready to go back to a nap there.

Hmmm. It looks like you have my cat over here. How does she do that?
What a pretty girl Lyra is.

What an absolutely adorable cat! Her eyes are so beautiful, especially against her fur. :)

Poor Lyra. I hate dentists! Feliz sends his love. Those eyes are to dye for! And such a pretty heart-shaped nose.

Oh Lyra knows how to work the camera alright! I think I need some tips. I think the camera always adds 5 lbs to my already big 10 lb body. Meow!

It’s always a good thing to see the vet dentist! Now you will have pretty teeth–and live longer. You look beautiful in the pictures.

An utterly beautiful site. So glad I found it. I hope you don’t mind, but I’m going to link to your blog from mine (it’s devoted to cats).

Ms. Lyra is indeed a beauty and she looks ever so much more relaxed about the mouth. I’m glad she’s recovered and content.

That photo of Lyra is drop-dead gorgeous. Any Kitty Photo-Secrets you’d care to share? (Aside from catnapping Lyra, that is.)
