Does this picture mean that you have a chocolate advent calendar this year? Are the treats really there to really eat?
Nyssa has one with little puffy characters having velcro backs. The last one is the Baby Jesus in a manger. All together it forms the Nativity.
Alas, it too is in storage.

Yesterday Iris opened the first door on her first advent calendar (she's almost three, just old enough). I showed it to her on Thursday and told her we would open it after I got home from work on Friday. When I opened the door Friday afternoon she came running down the hall shouting, "Now we can open 1!"

I was one of six children, so I got to open a door every sixth night--oh, did we ever keep track of whose turn it was.

Max and Reed snapped open the first window of their advent calendar yesterday. Lovely tradition. I hope they remember it fondly, too.
