Feline Friday: Wind storm edition

Oh, that wind! First it took our connection to the internets, then it took our power… and with it our electronically controlled gas heat and hot water. Thanks to all the possible beings whom one might thank for our new gas range, which will light with a match, our fireplace, ditto, and our warm, snuggly McKittens, who need no matches to produce heat.

Here at my office, we have power. However, I have not my camera, so I’m reduced to offering an image of Miss Lyra from yesteryear.

wide eyes

Over at the Friday Ark, Steve’s having power problems, too. Weekend Cat Blogging is at kitchenmage, who is also in the path of our Northwest windstorms. Carnival of the Cats will be at House of Chaos Sunday.

Our power is still out and we’ve moved to a hotel in Kent. We just saw a news report that said it might not be back for 5-7 days???

my power is back on, thankfully. If you want to see something amazing, go to 12th and Jackson, to see the uprooted tree. It will blow your mind.

Glad your power is back!!

Maybe someone will post a picture of the uprooted tree and 12 & J. I doubt I’ll make it into Seattle before Monday at the earliest and then 12&J is not close to a normal path.

Prognosis still is not good for power in our area anytime soon.

Oh, mercy! Glad to hear you’re okay. Keeping my fingers crossed that your power and internets return soon.

I was wondering about you up on that hill. Glad to know you and the McKittens are safe.
We had straight line winds come through Columbus, MS one February and it effected the whole town. Power poles were down and utility boxes were pulled off most of the houses in our neighborhood. It took crews from all over the country to put the poles back up. Power was off for 10 days, the phones out for two weeks and cable out for a month. What a mess.
You haven’t been stuck at work all this time have you?
