While Archie is all over his cat minders, purring and delighted to be scratched and petted, Syd won’t come out at all while they are around. They come to feed and play with the cats each day, and she waits until they leave before emerging to eat. If they find her, and try to coax her from under a bed- she squalks, and digs in!
Yet, when I get home, she emerges slowly, and heads straight for her bowl, as if nothing happened, accepting a bit of affection sweetly and patiently, but without a lot of display.
Despite his affection for, and acceptance of the minders, it is Archie who gets himself in an uproar over my return, mewling and talking, running back and forth, and rolling around on his back like a puppy. How can anyone say that there is one particular “cat personality”?

Give them their treats and a bit of food and after they have the time to think about it, they will give you the cold shoulder for a while. Ours always do even when they have a live in sitter.
