Since they were kittens, Sasha and Sergei have slept entwined head to tail, paws in the middle. I had hoped to catch them both asleep, but Sergei awakened at the sound of my camera, and looked up.
(In Taoist philosophy, the taijitu symbolizes the opposing, but complementary, forces of yin and yang.)
The Friday Ark finds a balance between cats and the other animals. On opposite sides of the world, Weekend Cat Blogging is in France at Lali et Cie, and Carnival of the Cats goes on an Australian walkabout to Crazy Meezer.

I wish my cats would do the same. The closest I’ve come is Tess sleeping on me and Boots beside me!
They’re cut! My kitties do the same and after the they fight!
Friday Ark #111
We’ll post links to sites that have Friday (plus or minus a few days) photos of their chosen animals (photoshops at our discretion and humans only in supporting roles). Watch the Exception category for rocks, beer, coffee cups, and….? We add boarder…
Our old ladies sleep entwined but usually stomach to back with heads all one direction… or else facing each other, and that sometimes looks heart-shaped.
I love to see cats sleeping together! Mine do the same…
Alas, because each of ours spent the first five years as only children before we met and married, although they like each other very much, sleeping spots are the last bastions of territory- the best they’ll do is share opposite sides of bed or sofa. I love Sasha and Serg together but this Yin and Yang pose tops all- thanks!
Aww, what sweeties. I love this picture.
Now THAT is a wonderful photo!!!
What good kitties! It’s so great when they get along like that! Sasha looks like a good fluffy pillow.
LOL!! I love that photo!!!!! It’s a calendar shot!
