Our old kitchen was dark. Dark cabinets dark countertops dropped ceilings dark. In our old kitchen, there were few days when you wouldn’t want to turn on the kitchen lights. And those lights? They were insufficient. Dim. Our old kitchen was rarely bright.
On a foggy fall weekend morning, our new (though not quite finished) kitchen is awash in light. The morning light is soft, diffuse, but it reflects off the shiny white cabinets and bounces off the high ceilings and glints from the steel and chrome fixtures. And there’s no need to turn on a single artificial light. Unless, of course, we want to see those red bands glow.
I knew, when we started this remodel, that we would be making the kitchen better than it was before. I did not expect this light. What a wonderful surprise.

Yay for light! That’s how I felt when I moved into this apartment. So, how much longer until it’s finished? It’s looking good!
Are you about to the point where you can stand back and say, “Let the gourmet cooking begin!!!!????”
