Soon as that shiny new gas range is hooked up, there’s going to be some jam coming out of that kitchen. And did you notice the plumbing stub-out under the range hood? Pot filler!!! For filling up my canner. Now I’ll only have to lug the full canner one way.

srp: The training goes a long way in getting the desired result, but there are always things that don’t turn out quite as expected, especially in old houses.

Lindy: Yes, only three more weeks to go! Seems like just… uh… two months ago (!) that we tore out the old one. No, the wall is not curved; the photostitching program (which combines multiple photos into one wide angle-ish photo) just makes it look that way. And yes, it’s very light and bright – quite a change from the old kitchen.

vicki: Good luck getting settled in to your new home! We lived with our ugly, came-with-the-house kitchen for several years. One thing about waiting a while: the plan that is being built now is MUCH better than the first half dozen plans that I sketched for the kitchen. There is something to be said for living with the space until you really know how you want it to be. After seven years with a horrible late ’70′s electric stove, we are finally getting a gas range!
