Feline Friday: Mighty hunter

the mighty hunter 3603

Sergei McKitten, a.k.a. Mighty Hunter, sits proudly before the pile of furry toys he has bagged. Any cat can catch a fur weasel, but it takes special prowess to capture the elusive green-black koosh.

You can bag all sort of animals on the Friday Ark. Be sure to hunt down Weekend Cat Blogging at the House of the (Mostly) Black Cats, and the Carnival of the Cats on Sunday.

Sergei is a fine hunter. I see he piles his prey up by the door, just like Mr. Rhett, except Rhett’s best prey has been socks from my daughter’s drawer. Every night he would bring them down one by one and pile them in front of my door. Every night I would tell her to shut her drawer all the way. Every night (and still) she does not.

I’m going to make Sophie study this very carefully. She admires Sergei but she hasn’t made the switch to indoor “creatures” yet- she still has her eye on the outside world. Maybe she’ll model Sergei’s indoor stalking…

Sergei is quite handsome.
It’s great to see another forum that combines music and cats!

Archie and Sid have a large collection of stuffed and rubber mice, 90% of which are stored under rugs and in closets at any given time. They can then be re-discovered when things get boring, hunted down, cornered, tossed around, partially unstuffed and rehidden.
I have always wondered how it was that Sid understood Archie’s long standing mouse rotation system so quickly when she joined the household. Did he explain it carefully, or did she already know the drill?
