“There are two means of refuge from the miseries of life: music and cats.” –Albert Schweitzer
Last August, at about this time, I typed: “One year into writing this blog, I’m still somewhat puzzled about what it wants to be. Perhaps I’ll know better by next year.”
Music and Cats is two years old tonight. I don’t yet know what to do with this blog, and my experiences at BlogHer stirred up my feelings and further complicated my thoughts on the subject. Hmmm… more to come.

happy blogday.
Happy blogiversary! I understand very much how you’re feeling. But, to paraphrase Dory from Finding Nemo: just keep writing, writing, writing, just keep writing…
I stumbled on your blog a while ago (mostly due to my love of cats), but found so much interesting reading here. The way you weave your words into a narrative keep me coming back every day! I missed your blogs while you were at BlogHer.
I’m hoping your compilations over 2 years is exactly what your blog was meant to be. Go Schweitzer!!
I love the kitty pieces of course, and the food pieces and the construction pieces and so on and so on. That 99 cent asparagus will NEVER leave my head!!!!!!
Congrats on the anniversary!
I am curious to know what attendees at both Blogher events would say in comparision of the two? Better or worse, etc…
I came here because of the cats, but I’ve really enjoyed everything else I’ve read, and it’s really inspirational to see just how much everything you present — from writing, photography, to your overall style — has improved so much over time. Thanks for sharing.
I’m looking forward to hearing about BlogHer. I hope that your blog will be around, in whatever direction you take it, for a long time. I’m always interested in what you have to say, and how you say it.
Happy Blogiversary!!!!!!!
I hope you stay with us, you add so much to the blogisphere
Yay, Kimberly! I like what it is. Keep up the good work.
Happy Blogiversary, Kimberly!
Is someone trying to talk you into finding a niche? Or even worse, losing the cats? Ah, feh. You have your own beautiful nicheless niche.
