Home again

mt rainier from the airplane

When I see Mt. Rainier, I know that I’m almost home . That’s one of the reasons why, whenever I fly into Seattle, I select a seat on the side of the airplane that will provide a view of the mountain. After living here for seven years, I still feel awed and delighted each time I catch sight of that snowcapped peak.

After BlogHer

Posted by Kimberly under Musings

BlogHer is over, and I have several draft posts that I haven’t finished. I realized once again this weekend that I am not comfortable with writing quickly. Today I am at Woolfcamp Afterglow, where we are debriefing, blogging, drinking coffee and eating (bread, cheese, fruit and homemade jam). Myabe I’ll post more today… or I might need more time to process all this before I can write about it.

Just so you know…

These are not Grace’s pink panties. They are not pink, nor are they Grace’s. They were, however, the only panties in evidence during the discussion of Grace’s pink panties, which was not really a discussion about panties, but about blog tagging.

Yes ma'am!

This is probably one of those “you really had to be there” things, isn’t it.

Feline Friday: Shopping for Sergei

Posted by Kimberly under Cats

all wrapped up and nowhere to go

For Sergei, life’s a game, and everything’s a toy. When I go clothes shopping - which I don’t do nearly as often as Sergei would like - I bring home one of the very best toys: tissue paper! It crinkles! It shreds! Any tissue paper is fun, but tissue paper taped into a perfectly cat-sized tube is particularly great. Because he’s a cat, Sergei never asks “does my tail look fat in this?”

It’s time for animal fun and games at the Friday Ark, and look for lots of shredding on the Scratching Post, which hosts the Carnival of the Cats on Sunday.

I’m going! Leaving right now!

Posted by Kimberly under Blogging

blogher!

In about five minutes, Paul is taking Janeen and me to the airport. It’s time for BlogHer! Had I not been so busy this week with work - both the pays-the-bills kind and the get-info-to-our-contractor kind - I would have written about how excited I am about going. Actually, I’ve been so busy that I hadn’t even gotten excited until I spent part of Tuesday evening making cards to take with me. Janeen and I will be staying with Grace in beautiful Santa Cruz, and hanging with cool women bloggers all weekend.

I’ll also be checking in on Bakerina and Bunni, who will be participating in Blogathon 2006 this weekend.

Time to go! Now! More later…
