It looks like Herb Robert to me, though its flowers are pinker. Does the foliage have a fragrance similar to cilantro?

BTW, Shasha is beautiful. I came upon your site searching for cat blogs, and you have great photos.

What a beautiful flower. I'd have a hard time calling that little guy a weed.

Of course, once the bloom is gone it's a bloody nuisance and can be blasted with herbicide until the ground glows like a Japanese lantern at night.

It is a weed only because we have chosen to classify it as such.

I see a beautiful flower. That's all that really ought to matter.

unfortunately - probably filaree (Erodium spp.) are the leaves crinkly and finely divided? you will know when the wicked seeds appear and cling for all they are worth to your ankles. There are no weeds - only wildflowers and nasty invasives - this does have prettier flowers than tumbleweed though

In my view, any flower which is blue is not a weed. There is something about blue flowers...

I like to think of these more as wildflowers, not weeds.
I have been trying to figure out what some of the ones we have here are. I didn't know how much it helped to know the leaf shape as well as the flower characteristics.

It looks like a kind of Blue-eyed Grass, maybe Idaho Blue-eyed Grass? Of course the genus has over 40 species so...
And I agree with Bill up there, its only a weed if you don't want it.
