Our washer and dryer are next to our back door, in a small room with three large windows looking onto the back yard. The McKittens love to hang out on top of the laundry machines, munching on the kitty grass that we keep there, and observing the goings-on outside. When we remodel our kitchen this summer, we will move the washer and dryer to the basement (the only cat-free zone in the house), and use this small, east-facing room as a breakfast nook. I’m sure the cats will assume that the small kitchen table we put in the nook is intended as a replacement viewing station.
(For the observant: yes, Sasha had looked away from the window when I took this photo. A moment later, he was staring out again, cackling at a crow.)
You can watch the goings-on in the animal world at the Friday Ark. Weekend Cat Blogging #49 will be going on at eatstuff, and Carnival of the Cats will be at Watermark on Sunday.

I am beginning to believe that cats are very cognizant of their features and seem to know which is their best side. Of course they want to present themselves in the most beautiful form. Sasha obviously knows how to pose.
I like the way you can see Sasha’s whiskers perfectly!
Lovely close up pix of Sasha.
Wow… an amazing whiskershot of Sasha!
