Feline Friday: Pleased with himself

April 21st, 2006 by Kimberly

pleased with himself

Sasha is very pleased with himself. Never mind the demonic reflecting eyes; those big splayed toes indicate one contented cat. Why, you might be asking, is Sasha so pleased?

on top of the worldLook at that! Sasha’s on top of the world. OK, it’s the top of the armoire, but it’s the highest horizontal surface in our house. Sergei has been up there before; he uses the CD rack and table (one leg of which is visible on the right) as a stairway to kitty high-spot heaven.

This was, as far as we know, Sasha’s first time scaling the cherry tower. He planned his assault carefully. From the top of the nearby radiator (just to the other side of the yellow pillows on the left), he studied his approach trajectory for several minutes. Finally, he leapt from the radiator onto the armoire — three feet or so horizontally and four feet vertically. After a quick - and very vocal - tour of the top, Sasha flopped onto his side, hung his head over the edge, and contemplated his next move. It’s lucky for Miss Lyra that Sasha wasn’t interested in hunting.

Top, bottom, and everywhere in between; that’s where you’ll find the critters on the Friday Ark. On Sunday, see all the cats when the Carnival comes to town at My Animal Family.

You’re raising a housefull of cathletes! Move the TV cabinet a few inches every day and see what they can really do.

Lyra does look very “unaware” of what or whom is peering down at her. How did the wooden bowl fare? And is that a Ty bag I see? Does someone there love the softness of plush animals? My cats would look at the bag with disdain as if to say…”Why do you need those when you have us?”

Sasha does look quite pleased with himself. But how will he get down?

Proves once again, “cat’s don’t have owners, they have staff.”

Yes, I think he’s trapped. You’re going to have to call the fire department.
