I am enchanted by the tufts of silky, startlingly white fur that grow between the soft pink pads of Sasha’s paws. This fur grows in all directions, giving those paws an unkempt look even when freshly bathed. Texturally, the tufts have more in common with the long black guard hairs along his spine than with the short, thick fluff on the rest of his white mittens. I would like to stroke them. Sasha would rather I not. As usual, he wins.
For more furry feet (and the bodies that go with them), pad on over to the Friday Ark. Sasha will enjoy shredding the Scratching Post when the Carnival of the Cats arrives there on Sunday.

The ragdolls don’t mind having their toes scritched. I always think of the line in the musical cats…. Jellicles wash behind their ears, Jellicles dry between their toes. And what nice toes they are!
What a great picture! I’ve got fur on the bottom of my feet, too.
What I’m amazed at is that the fur doesn’t wear away from walking, scratching, pawing at things, etc. How do they do that?
Cats are a mystery.
Caution, do not read this unless you are so far gone that you wish to read a story (true) about cat feet.
But these lovely cat toes are just like the tufty toes of my late, lamented cat Roberto! But he was cool with having his toes touched, because he was somewhat confused about his identity as a feline.
I raised him from a smidge on cat formula when he was orphaned very young by a tractor. I had a hard time getting him to try solid food, and got him to eat eventually, by putting bits of canned food on his feet. He would lick them off, and in the end, he got the idea.
When he was grown, he still sometimes put his paws in his food and licked them off. This caused some of my family members a bit of hilarity. They claimed I had tried to teach him to eat with knife and fork, and this was the tragic result. He was damned cute, was Roberto.

We’ll post links to sites that have Friday (plus or minus a few days) photos of their chosen animals (photoshops at our discretion and humans only in supporting roles). Watch the Exception category for rocks, beer, coffee cups, and….? We will add yo…

what sweet kitty feet!
my preference is teeth. The top teeth in a kitties mouth drives me wild!
You make me want to have cat, Kim.
I grew up with them, but now I’m allergic.
Gorgeous feet.
My kitties all have “tufty toes” too…we are big fans of furry feet!
