I could not agree more – you are a wondeful writer,
soulful and full of expression. Couples who must face really tough adversities seem to emerge stronger and more bonded than others who get to trip through life with nary a hiccup, don’t you think?

You’re so much more than just a great writer! You are a very brave woman. And Paul is a very brave man. You are indeed perfect for each other. It’s great that you can remember every detail, and then communicate them in a way that others can feel the emotions you both were feeling. Did you know that father’s don’t want their children to ever have to feel so much pain?

More than 15 years ago, my husband and I were in a similar situation that did not work out so well. It is remarkable how it becomes so very clear what is really important, and what is extraneous and unworthy of fuss. This many years later, I am fine and so is my daughter. But I don’t think I have entirely lost that increased clarity, and hope I never do.
It’s odd, but in addition to being pleased that you have both done so well, I feel somehow proud of you.

You have become a wonderful writer. I am so glad to see that your husband has done well. I’ve seen the other side of the OR doors and the dedicated people working hard for their patients. All the lives and the stories that pass through those doors. I wish they all had the good outcome your story did.
