Although I’m home in Seattle now, this morning Paul and I were somewhere far from home. Shortly before we left that place today, I photographed this building. Can you guess where it is?
Here are a few hints:
- Paul and I travelled seven hours (each way) from Seattle to visit this place. Our transportation was the quickest way to get there from Seattle… these days.
- This building was built in 1917, and has been in continuous use by the school that built it ever since.
- Had Paul not been involved with the school that owns this place, I probably would never have heard of it — unless I’d read the article about it in Vanity Fair a year or two ago.
- This place is located in the second largest county in
the United States(oops! - and to confirm srp’s guess) California. - This place is fewer than 20 miles from the site of the oldest recorded living thing on earth.
Some of our family and friends know where we’ve been this weekend; y’all, please don’t tell. I’ll write something about our trip in the next day or so, but there will be a prize for anyone who figures it out before then.
(Hint: the next photo should help anyone who has spent any time in this part of the world. Further hint: the name on the sign is a pun.)

I have no idea where this is. I’m in New York, so that might have something to do with it. I love the pictures of your cats, so cute!
Oh, Michele sent me
Hello, Michele sent me. I am clueless. Oh sure, plenty of clues. But I’m clueless.
Sorry, I don’t know.
Did you go by ferry?
Are you somewhere in California near the redwood national forest?
Other than that I have no clue.
Whether or not it is the place I read about here (I couldn’t find a picture to confirm), I’ve learned some very interesting things while playing this little game. I hope you had a nice weekend!
