Deep Springs College, where Paul and I spent the past weekend, requires of its 24-26 students two full years of both English composition and public speaking. These men are more comfortable speaking extemporaneously in front of a crowd - which many did at the reunion - than any group I’ve ever seen. While I’m sure that the required composition courses produce fine writing skills in all of the former students, Paul has a writer’s way with words.
This is all by way of saying that, while I trudge my way through writing a post about Katrina and architecture, I recommend that you read some of my husband’s fine writing about Katrina relief on his beautifully written blog, Ratiocination.

So you’re married to a smart guy, huh? It’s true: his blog- and the most recent post- are well worth flipping to. Thanks for the link!
Oh! I’ll guess on that previous post. Were you at Deep Springs College?
He is a fine writer, Kimberly! I enjoyed the Deep SpringsCollege website very much, too. Welcome home!
I taught this summer in Vermont with Brendan Taaffe, a graduate of Deep Springs. He wrote a beautiful shape-note hymn of that name, too.
“Deep Springs is committed to equal opportunity in employment and education, and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, ethnic origin, national origin, sexual preference, religion, or financial status.
In accordance with the Deed of Trust, Deep Springs is an all-male college.”
Maybe the Legal Eagles among the Alumni and Trustees can finally deal with the irony of the second paragraph following the first.
Love your blog and your kitty pics…will check out your hubby’s blog! =^..^=
Well, I at least got the right state. Interesting college.
