For our sixth wedding anniversary (a year ago last May), I gave Paul a hammock. While a hammock is neither the traditional gift of candy or iron (what an odd pair of choices!), nor the modern one of wood, Paul enjoys it a lot, particularly on warm summer Sunday afternoons.

Wait–I think I see a little wood on there! Looks like the hammock has miraculously relocated itself from the front porch to the back patio. Is Paul sleeping off his cold in this photo?
I should have asked for a hammock!!!! Great gift.
Is there any chance the hammock support system is made of iron? You might have covered both your modern and traditional anniversary gift bases without even realizing it.
…yes, yes, I see the wood, and the iron [steel, an iron alloy].
But the candy must be gone…
Yup, Paul must be sleeping off the bon-bons. Now all he needs is a fan, a fanner, and some peeled grapes.
Who sleeps in a hammock with their shoes on?
I gave my husband one for our 11th anniversary and I have a very similar picture of him in ours!
