I have a very good road bike and I replaced the saddle with the butterfly made by Terry. It is designed for women. There are also comfort seats that are wide and padded. The right saddle depends on your riding position and your body. A good bike shop can help you. An uncomfortable saddle will mean you don't want to bike. And it can be very painful. But it doens't have to be. If you are going to ride a lot you should look into buying a decent saddle that will suit you.
