I keep a water bowl down for them, but they only rarely drink out of the bowl, usually it's straight to the fountain. She will jump up the kitchen countertop whenever I turn on the kitchen tap then meow loudly until she gets to drink from it. Some how to her, that is water fresh from the tap even though I just put a fresh bowl out for her. My cat does something similar.
