That’s what I tell myself as I look around this place, and think about things that I have yet to do.
I hope to import the Haloscan comments from my old blog. Importing my posts from Blogger worked like a charm, and there’s a method that’s supposed to import Haloscan comments into WordPress, but I haven’t managed to make it work yet. Has anyone done this successfully?
The import from Blogger went smoothly, but I still have some cleanup to do. I need to fix all of the internal links in my posts, so that references to previous posts don’t send someone the old blog. And all of the photos that I have on Blogger need a new home. (While I can see them on this blog, I’ve heard that some people’s machines don’t find them.) I haven’t decided whether to use this site, or a photo hosting site like flickr. Any comments or suggestions about photo hosting sites?
While I love the photo of Sergei in the header, I want to give Sasha and Lyra (and perhaps the violin) equal time. I’ve found a WordPress theme (WP for template) that displays a different image at each click; now I just have to find the piece of code responsible for that trick, and figure out how to fit it into this theme.
(After many years, those three semesters of college computer science courses are really paying off. I have a good grasp of how to read well-structured computer code. The PHP scripting language for WordPress in new to me, but isn’t terribly complicated. I couldn’t begin to write a script from scratch – yet! – but I can tinker with them.)
I have lots of little graphic and organizational details to resolve, the equivalent of painting the walls, moving the furniture around and putting all the books on the bookshelves. It’s going to take some time. While I might wish to, I can’t work on this all day long… or all night. And so, for now, good night.

Congratulations on the move. I’ll be sure to change the address on my blogroll.
